The Bausch + Lomb Area 10 Expansion has met with a tremendously positive reaction from the client management and staff alike. The key being the successful marriage between the buildings demanding manufacturing function and the creation of an internal environment for the team members to sustainably enjoy their working day.
About the project
The Bausch + Lomb Area 10 Expansion is a 5,552m² addition to the company’s Waterford city campus, where over 1,400 staff produce market-leading contact lenses. The project delivers a new ISO 8 clean room production facility, cartoning facilities, staff accommodation and a new staff entrance.
The design celebrates the industrial form while presenting a contemporary addition to the existing campus – bright, light-filled production spaces that balance the rigorous demands of med-tech manufacturing with a workplace people enjoy. The project has been awarded LEED Silver certification.
